Search Engine Optimisation Tips.

Do you have any tips you would like to share with visitors of this blog? If so, please post them below...

Here's one I have used but can't say that I know whether it works or not. It concerns adding a comment in your HTML that includes your keyword phrase for that page. Has anyone used this method? Does it work?

The network organisation

Some years ago whilst working in IT Strategy for one of Australia's largest financial institutions, I read about the networked organisation of the future. The concept seemed quite interesting to me and I now find it amusing that my own organisation is based primarily on this structure.

My company has a team that is distributed around the world. Working in this way has been an experience. One of the things I really like is working on a project and passing tasks to people at the end of the day and then returning to work the next morning to find them complete! It certainly makes some tasks efficient.

The challenge though is communicating. The technology seems to work Ok but is not quite where it needs to be to be considered efficient. I have been using Skype and plugin called Yugma that lets remote users view what I am doing on my desktop. A great tool hampered somewhat by the network.

What collaboration tools do you use and how do you find them?

The science of landing page optimisation

In recent weeks I have been working with Goggles Website Optimizer. What a great tool for conducting A/B tests or multi-variate tests! An of course it is free.

What I like is just how easy it is to set up. If you have basic HTML experience, then you will not find it too difficult.

What I am struggling with though is how to make changes to the pages once a test has started. For example, I want to add a picture to my page in a section that is not being tested but no matter what I do, I cannot seem to get the new page to load.

If anyone has worked this out, I would like to know. Also, what are your experiences with Googles Website Optimizer?
